CHARDONNAY, MERLOT, & SYRAH

Typically, we'd all start hearing about the upcoming bicycle race through France that happens every year. It's postponed, so we'll have our own special event.

Join Urban Legend for a Tour de France Virtual Tasting: a tour of 3 famous French regions with three great French wines. We'll explore French wine history, terroir, and explore a legend or two--and taste 2 delicious Urban Legend wines plus a special guest from Bourgogne.
And, no--you didn't mis-read the headline. We're featuring Merlot, Syrah, and Chardonnay; Paul, our cellar assistant also makes wine with his family in France and delighted us with their classic Mâcon-Villages. We're featuring it as a special treat--but only in this special tasting.

2019 DOMAINE COTEAUX DES MARGOTS – MACON-VILLAGES $17
Coming from the finest terroirs of Pierreclos, this Mâcon-Villages has the typical character of Chardonnay from the region. Both fruity and mineral, it will marry perfectly with starters, fish, and poultry… also perfect for a drink between friends.

2015 MERLOT – ALEXANDER VALLEY $34
Elegant. Structured. Ages beautifully. This is Merlot at its best, offering rich berry fruit, round tannins, and lingering complexity. Pair with roasted meats: beef, veal, or lamb, particularly when cooked with thyme or rosemary.

2015 SYRAH, COOPER RANCH – SIERRA FOOTHILLS/AMADOR $29
While Dick Cooper is known for his Barbera, his vineyards' sunny days and cool nights are perfect for growing great Syrah. Rich and fruity with a savory smoky overtone, this is a wine that's made for stews and braises.
